I know what you’re doing. You want a mat and you are wondering which is the cheapest that will do the job. Well this ain’t the cheapest but it is way better than the yoga mats and other cheapies.
The is a very durable mat that has a nice sheen allowing for easy wipe downs. If you are using a bike your cleats won’t tear hole in this. I’m happy with this. Glad I did not waste my money on a cheap mat.
Within 2 week of purchasing the matt, one of the edge started to peel off. It is also getting worse. I've called them, and they gave me their email address to send the picture. It's now been 1 week, and I still have not heard back from them to replace it. Otherwise the matt works well if only it does not peel.
We tried a lot of mats to go under our treadmill and found most of them to be too thin or they compress so much there is no floor protection. We also found that thicker, rubber mats smell way too toxic. This mat is the perfect thickness and doesn't compress much under our treadmill which protects the floor. The only issue is it's almost greasy. So we were afraid the treadmill would move around when we were using it. We tried a lot of cleaning products trying to get rid of the greasy feeling and also contacted customer service who was no help at all. We never got rid of the slippery, greasy feeling, but we had an old mat that compressed too much to be used alone, so we've doubled up, with this greasy mat on the bottom to protect the floor, and another mat on top so our treadmill won't slide around.
I bought the heavy duty model for my bike trainer on my concrete basement floor. Looks to be a nice durable mat. won't get torn up with cleats and the top is easy to clean. Just what I wanted. The only negative is that the top surface is too slippery; it doesn't hold the trainer or the front wheel block in place very well, so they move with even light bumps which then requires that they be realigned.
