They advertise WiFi AND Bluetooth connectable.....but you can't have them at the same time......like you can on any mobile phone......so you have to go through a complicated disconnect from one to get to the other one. Typical Bose software that never works well ALL the time.
This is a good speaker and what you expect from Bose. I purchsed this product with the expectation I would be able to utilise the Apple AirPlay to simplify connecting to the various apple products in my eco-system (TV's Phone, Laptops), mainly my apple TV's. I was super excited until I got home connected everything and it doent work. I assumed it can be fixed pretty easily if I just get online and find the "fix".
1) AirPlay does not work. The Bose Support forums indicate this is a know issue and Bose does not have a date when they estimate this to be resolved. 2) Alexa is limited. I have three amazon alexa devices and they support playing apple music via alexa. I was thinking this might be a stop-gap until bose fixes the airplay issues, but no, alexa on this device does not support the apple music skill. 3) The sounds is great and I'm very pleased with its clarity and bass output.
I rated this as a single star because of AirPlay not working and it being a known issue with with no resolution timeframe. In my opinion they should not be able to advertise this as supporting AirPlay when they don't appear to be providing support for customers who purchased this product.
I hope to prevent disappointment for any of you potential buyers expecting to be able to AirPlay to this device. I would advise you to dig a little deeper on the bose support forums to see if its been fixed prior to buying.
