I'm no expert, but this bow is pretty nice. I got it as a replacement to the Shanghai bow that came with my erhu, and the sound has definitely improved with using this one instead. Occasionally, I see a couple of slightly loose strings, but it doesn't seem to bother the sound much, and the heat shrink has moved a bit. I do wish that the heatshrink on the end was plain black; it still has labeling on it for size specs. Otherwise, the bow looks nice, and made a noticeable difference in sound quality. So I am happy with it. Major accolades to the seller! The first one I received broke within 5 minutes of receiving it. The small piece of wood on the frog where the hair hooks to came right off when I tried to disconnect the hair. I contacted Landtom and they promptly sent me a replacement bow, and that's the one I've been using with no issues. They also kept me updated with shipping status.
I have several bows to compare this one with and it definitely is better quality than some other ones that I’ve ordered. Not a 10 of 10, but I’d at least give it a 6-7 due to how well it’s made. So, If you’re a beginner looking to upgrade your bow from a crap one or just looking to try a different one then this is a good choice.
The bow quality is very good. One problem with a lot of erhus I have purchased is that the bows they come with are cheaply made and in poor condition. This bow is nicely made, easy to take apart and place between the strings.
This is my first erhu bow I bought and it does not dissapoint. Sound quality has improved over the stock bow that my Erhu came with. It's also inches longer which definitely improved my whole notes. Color also matches my Rosewood Erhu so that's a plus.
