Would NOT recommend at all. At first it seems like an incredIble purchase. Until it starts losing connection. Or If your home wifi drops off even for a minute, It does not Auto reconnect. You then have to go into your sleeping babies room and basically wake them whilst you reconnect it manually by having to scan a QR code via the camera. The help I have received is frustrating, asking lots of questions that I answer and still no resolution. Now we are on to, ‘what model is your router’ .... let’s see how much more of this I have to endure before the little birdie ends up flying out of a window.
I have had ongoing connection issues, dropouts, and random app shutdowns. Cubo provided a replacement unit but the issues still continued. Now I cannot even connect to my network. They have offered to provide yet another replacement but I cannot trust this product with my child's safety. Cubo has repeatedly refused to give me a refund. I would recommend almost any other baby monitor over this product.
I normally laugh at 1 star reviews. Trust me in this case. This on paper and when it works would be amazing. But it’s not as it doesn’t work. I’ve spent hours with their terrible tech support. I’ve upgraded internet, set up wifi repeaters but the problem is not with me. It’s over blown claims. The covered face and rollover alerts are so inaccurate that they are useless. Save yourself a lot of anxiety and get a different monitor...
First one purchased was faulty after 2-3 months, wouldn’t connect (Aqua light remained permanently on). Eventually (After much back and forth) they sent us a replacement Cubo that is obviously a ‘refurbished’ one not a NEW one. The replacement won’t connect to our account. Multiple communications with the tech team whilst we have a 4month old with no monitoring and hasn’t had for over a month now. Don’t buy!!, it’s not the headache you need when you have a new baby.
I will preface this by saying I NEVER leave reviews... but this is necessary as a mother.
I received this monitor 3 days ago and sold my old monitor as soon as this one arrived obviously expecting it to work as advertised.
I took it out of the box and set it up on Friday. It wouldn't connect and gave me numerous error messages.
There is no phone support and customer service is atrocious. They take forever to reply and send you canned responses suggesting they understand your frustration when really they don't... as I am the single mom at home in that moment with no way to monitor my baby girl which means I will not get the precious sleep I need just to be able to function the next day.
Customer service assured me they would fix it asap... long story short, my daughter went to bed at 7 and they didn't reply to me until 2am...
I tried to set up the monitor in the morning and it appeared to be fixed. Then Saturday afternoon it says it won't connect... I message tech support and the same canned responses come back and they tell me they are having issues with live feed in the app... my friend who has the same monitor was experiencing the same connection issue.
Saturday night was night 2 with no way to monitor my child yet again due to this product.
Now here I am on Sunday... this afternoon seemed fine and I put my daughter to sleep for 7pm and sure enough it doesn't connect and tech support is giving me the same story about the app not connecting to live feed and it's a known issue they are trying to fix.
To say I am appalled by this product and the service is not saying enough. As a mother you purchase an item like this for peace of mind and this has caused me nothing but stress and worry since I received it 3 days ago. I will be returning this useless device and my friend will be as well.
For the price and features I really wanted to love this monitor but save yourself the trouble and worry and find something reliable!! I am sitting here at 1046pm in disbelief that this is my 3rd night of this... I honestly cannot believe I paid what I did... this device isn't worth even 5 dollars if I can't monitor my child at all.
Update 4: I can't return this garbage product as the return window is only 30 days. Likely because they know it's not reliable much beyond that. I can picture them laughing and running all the way to the bank with our money, singing "thanks for your cash, suckers!"
We've disconnected this thing and it now sits upon our mantle with the appropriately given award of "worst Amazon purchase ever". Will it be dethroned? Unlikely.
Update 3: We're back home now after taking Cubo with us to family for a visit. As seen in previous updates, we experienced many issues that were never resolved and therefore either my wife or I needed to lay with our son while he slept to ensure he did not have a seizure while we weren't in the room. We're back home now and then problems persist. It doesn't matter was wifi we connect to, Cubo is perpetually in set up/error mode. Let me be plainly clear. This thing is an unreliable piece of junk. It's caused us more frustration and annoyance than anything. It's too bad, because the picture quality, when it did work, was great. We needed something we could rely on but instead ended up with garbage. You've been warned!
Update 2: I'll be returning this monitor as it's completely unreliable. Worked well initially and then stopped. Can no longer connect to WiFi, even when placed in the same room as our modem. Monitor had always been well cared for, it just stopped working. When it comes olto our kids, we need something that we can count on and we can't count on this, even though it sells for several hundred dollars. Of I'd spent $30 on this thing, I'd almost expect something like this to happen eventually, but for the price we paid it should be much better. It's a waste of time and money and I sincerely hope you choose a different, better monitor for your child. I'll be attempting to return this and get something better.
Update: After having the Cubo for a few months, I decided to come back here and update my review.
For the price of this monitor, I expected much better reliability. The video feed often disconnects and you need to relaunch the app in order to get a live feed again. Also, this evening the video just stopped working despite a solid, high speed network connection.
If I'd known before hand how prevelant these issues were I'd have maybe looked elsewhere for something else. Now we're stuck without a monitor until we can get to the store and find one.
When it comes to your kid, you want something you'll be able to rely on without fail for years, that's why we invested $400 in this monitor. It's definitely not living up to our expectatins (which we don't think are unreasonable).

We were really surprised with how good of quality the video is, even the night vision is excellent. It's so good you can see subtle movements like breathing. I also like how you can zoom in to specific locations of the video in case you're looking for something in particular. The set up was easy and the packaging was good. It arrived on time. One thing I think should be much better considering the price of this unit is the quality of the microphone when you're attempting to talk to baby from the Cubo app. It often comes through jarbled or it cuts off part of what you're saying unless you're talking really loud, which sort of defeats the purpose of ensuring baby goes back to sleep, even with very fast internet. Otherwise, it does what we need it to do which is allows us to see baby who experiences seizures.
I literally never review anything but if I can stop someone else from making the same mistake we did then it’s worth it! This monitor is so unreliable literally at one point every day the footage won’t load. The tempt and humidity will show but no picture. I’ve tried relaunching the app, restarting my phone and even uninstalling the app. It happens to my husbands phone as well. It doesn’t matter if I’m on LTE or wifi. It’s currently 12am and I have no footage of my baby girl and I can’t sleep. I also was experiencing play back issues and it seems to have been resolved but it took a couple days of dealing with IT. The picture quality is great, the whole concept of this monitor is good but it just doesn’t have the tech behind it. Honestly just buy the Nanit.
So picture is great, I was loving everything about it, until I had to do the firmware update (I only received this product 2 days ago so it's brand new) and now cubo will not respond, their costumer service is non existant. They do not have a phone number to contact, just a chat room which they do not respond in a timely manner (I'm still waiting for a response) . Do not waste your money. Buy a more developed product such as nanit.. We are extremely disappointed.
Our toddler kept waking up randomly and we couldn’t figure out why. Tonight after the Cubo dropped the video for the third time, I went to check on the camera.
As I stood there in the dark in my toddlers room, I watched the monitor...It was trying to reconnect at 2:30AM and because it has lost wifi signal, it had TURNED THE STATUS LIGHT BACK ON AND WAS EMITTING A BEEPING NOISE AS IT TRIED TO RECONNECT.
How many times has this happened since we got this monitor and has been waking our kid up?!?
Removed from his room immediately.
Also there were two weeks where their servers couldn’t handle the number of people using their monitors so they just didn’t work at all at night.
Amazing picture quality, was easy to set up. Came beautifully packaged and the crib mount or stand mount were great alternatives. Night light control from phone is handy and being able to clearly speak to him through the app is wonderful.
Just setting up is already a nightmare, won’t connect to WiFi then disconnect by itself after multiple try. The microphone cannot be turned off so if you are In the same room it gives an echo. Will be returning this product. Not worth the hassle.
