Honestly, I have no idea if this is a good value for money but here's what I like and don't like about the mirror: 1. The light is very good and bright, better than the folding blue travel mirror from Floxite that I have a few of. 2. The mirror is good - very magnifying - so its not for seeing your whole face. It's for blind old people like me putting on makeup and plucking eyebrows, etc. 3. The thing I like less about this mirror compared to the folding, telescoping travel light from Floxite is that it isn't very adjustable as far as position. The guts of the light are behind the mirror which makes it heavy on that "half" of the light compared to the cover of the light which acts as a stand and is not heavy. This means that in some positions it will tip over. It is also heavier than the blue telescoping Floxite travel mirror. In summary, I like it enough to keep it but for travel I think the other light may be better UNLESS you plan to use it in a dark place. It is also heavier than the other light which might make a difference to you for travel. On a recent trip I could not apply makeup in the bathroom due to inability to position the mirror in a way that didn't require me to kneel on the hard bathroom floor. Ended up taking toiletries to the desk so I could sit in the chair and kind of slouch to see in the mirror.
I previously had another 15x travel mirror from Floxite that folded up, but a wire connected batteries in the base to two lights in the top half, and years of folding finally snapped the wire. This version of the 15x travel mirror is better for a number of reasons - A) the battery is in the same side as the light, so opening and closing the unit won't break any wires; B) the light goes all the way around the mirror, so there are no shadows, even when holding tweezers at weird angles; and C) the light is less orangey than the other mirror. The mirrors are about the same size, even. This one is taller because of how the batteries are arranged, but it's flatter, so overall I'm fine with it. The downsides are that the lights are almost too bright early in the morning, I wish you could recline the mirror even more in the base, and the plastic attracts a lot of fingerprints. These are pretty minor quibbles though. So far, I'm pretty happy with this as a replacement and hope it lasts a while!
This mirror is very bright and is excellent for up close use. Like it has a cover that can be folded back and used as a stand for the mirror. The cover is good protection while traveling. Wish they would make it a little bigger. Overall the mirror is the best travel mirror I’ve found so far.
I have a larger countertop Floxite unit that I use daily. I was glad to find this brand for travel, and I have also given these as gifts. They have the right amount of magnification and the LED lights are very helpful. I will probably buy more for stocking stuffers.
When I received this, I was going to return it (the light practically blinded me). It is very bright (I use it about 3"-5" away from my face). The battery compartment is poorly designed (I have to have my husband open it for me, Aaargh. But I was going on a trip, so I used it. And now am very satisifed with it. Great travel size, opens easily, helped with my makeup for eyes & face. This works better than my previous lighted travel mirror.
