The cutter works. It is cheap. The back of the package is written in terribly translated English. The cutter itself constantly comes unscrewed from the tip meaning you have to stop and tighten it every couple of cuts. I wish I'd bought something better, the amount of glass I'm wasting due to poor scoring is ridiculous. ______________________________________________ I received a message from the seller after I wrote this stating that they had begun using a different supplier after seeing my review. I appreciate they took my feedback seriously, and am upgrading the product to five stars as a result. Please realize this is not based on my testing of the replacement product, but appreciation that they took customer feedback so seriously.
Very well built. It is super strong and can handle any jobs with ease. The handle has good grip so it’s perfect for when you need to press it down on a thicker glass without slipping. There are different sizes for different thickness of glasses. It can cut mirrors, windows, stained glass, etc... this is a must have tool for DIY. I’m a DIY myself and I need this product to cut glasses for my aquariums. The oil part was something new with this tool and it stands out from the rest because you can cut with precise cut without chipping the glass.
The glass at home is broken ~ it's too expensive to replace. It's very cheap to buy a piece of it by yourself ~ I bought this set of tools. I'm very satisfied. I also have a small screwdriver to replace the head of the screwdriver. ~ it's great!
This scratch wheel has 3 different sizes of the cutters. It didn't work out for me on one piece of glass. The piece I was trying to cut was formed by heat and an electric charge, (tempered glass. My attempted SNAP turned into a broom and dustpan event. Like a windshield. May leak when not in use. Drain and wipe with a paper towel. Return all parts to the holder and tape it. Will store easily. Unless you use it all the time.
I am planning what to hang on my walls of my new home. In the past I have always creates custom frames. I want to continue this for my new home. I love that I can make a custom frame and use this tool to cut the glass to perfect size! The ability to use oil to make the glass cutting easier is something new to me and I love this! It makes glass cutting so much easier! Don't lose the screw through! Totally in love with this product for pictures in my new home!
This worked GREAT for cutting mirror. The typical glass cutter was not working for me. I ruined so many mirrors and almost gave up on cutting my own mirrors. I figured I just couldn't cut glass. I watched 2 YouTube videos where people said that same thing so I tried this tool and it worked so great! **Tip: the ball on the end has a purpose, if you're trying to cut a skinny piece of glass or if a piece won't break easily after scoring it, hold it the opposite way and tap the ball along the score line on the side you're not using. This will help the cut start to run and will break more easily!
I work at a glass shop and these cutters are outstanding. Anyone that cuts glass professionally will love this cutter. Obviously a lot of the low ratings are from people who don't have a clue how to cut glass. There is a little bit of an art to it. I love these they usually last from 6 to 9 months, which is excellent because I'm cutting glass most of the day. Highly recommend.
This is a nice durable tool that cuts with ease. I have used it to cut a hole through a glass window for a laundry vent. It would definitely work very well with shaping some stained glass or anything else you’d need to do. Highly recommend :)
