I struggled putting the clips in and taking them out, even my husband said get the pliers, this is ridiculous. I contemplated keeping for other types of terrain like docks or using the walls doors on top of the matt but these are just not put together well. God forbid you try to attach a piece to an L corner, good luck getting that to work! No, I waited until Feb on a pre order for these, but they are promptly going back, I cannot use something that doesn't work even to assemble it.
These tiles, while very pretty, are absolute trash to assemble. The amount of energy required to clip the tiles together is ridiculous. Getting a few of the pieces together is a pain enough. But, trying to build a large map is almost impossible without breaking the tiles or shaving some of your palm skin off. I tried to build a 12x16 tile map and after an hour I gave up. Twice, while trying to clip in the last few pieces the entire map collapsed on itself and broke apart. Also, even if you use all the clips in all the tiles, the map is flimsy, so you need a board or something to support it while you move it around. Unless you plan to build a map and never take it apart again, I wouldn't buy these. I've seen a few threads where people talk about replacing the clips with magnets or wood or more useful plastic, but that's ridiculous. People shouldn't have to buy extra material just to get your tile system to work. It is a shame, because all the accessories really are pretty and affordable, but the clip system needs a major overhaul.
Garbage product, the connecting clips are so tight fiting that even after squeezing them with pliers you literally cant get anymore than three tiles together without them exploding from the force required to connect them... dont waste your money...
