To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I’m new to embroidery and made a quick purchase to get my hands on a kit to start practicing. I should have done more research before hand. I didn’t realize what ada cloth was. I was hoping to receive just plain fabric to work with. If you are new like me research the difference between cross stitch and embroidery and you’ll see that cross stitch uses different cloth and different patterns. (The ada cloth is thick with square like wholes for your needle) I don’t like this method as much so I was a little disappointed but that’s my fault for not researching that first.
Overall, this is a great cross-stitch starter kit. However, it's called an embroidery kit. The fabric included is specifically for cross-stitch. If you're looking for a cross-stitch kit, this is the one you want. If you want an embroidery kit, you're going to be disappointed.
Bought as a gift. My wife has spent a good amount of time with this kit and made some beautiful pieces. It’s got a lot of items for the cost and they are all in place so a beginner doesn’t have to shop around and forget something (inevitably me LOL). I took away one star because the quality of a couple items left a little to be desired but nothing so major that it diminished my wife’s use of the kit.
I really like that this came with all the supplies I need to start an embroider project! I am learning with online video tutorials and I'm really excited!!! I love having such a variety of colors to get started but I will probably have to buy more of any color that I start a project with (which is to be expected). The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is just the quality of the supplies. The little scissors in the kit were pretty flimsy and have already broken. The fabric that came with it was more like cross-stitching fabric. It's really coarse and loosely woven- not great for embroidery projects but it's fine for practicing stitches.
