Sometimes a product doesn't need to be fancy to get the job done. These warming pads are pretty basic, but they work better than the several much more expensive ones I've bought that are made for reptiles. As for those more expensive ones, I should toss them out as junk now because they could never keep my frog tank at a proper temperature no matter how I mounted them. Not so with these. I mounted them to the inside-back of my 50-gallon vivarium, turned them on, and watched the temperature rise up to a perfect 82 F. Just a little calibration, and the temperature has held steady now for the last 48 hours. They can get it much warmer, but I am trying to ease my frog out of her period of brumation. I estimate that they can bring the temperature up to about 89 F at the highest setting.
I love these heat mats! They are just what I needed for my leopard gecko enclosures! I have 20 gallon long aquariums and was having trouble finding the right size to give them an adequate temperature gradient until I found these! I also love that they are not adhesive because I haven't had good luck with those types (the glue malfunctions and it ends up getting unstuck anyway). Not to mention I can move them around as needed without having to worry about sticky residue being left on my tanks. They also heat up quite nicely, I have the switch set all the way up and am controlling the actual temperature with a digital thermostat and it's doing well. Will be purchasing more of these in the future! Highly recommend.
This definitely works for my snakes that I keep in bins on a snake rack. It kinda sucks that they don’t stick but I also like it if I ever upgrade to a bigger rack. The size of these guys are big and that’s a plus as well. They get very hot! If the dial is turned all the way up it’s a little over 100 degrees but it’s it’s on the very lowest setting it’s about 75 degrees. I had to keep adjusting it and check it to get it just right. I wish it had the number degrees on the dial but it works.
I ordered 4 and I’m happy with it and so are my snakes.
