Does seem to reduce the amount of sweat on hands when changing players. The strap is much better than the default one that comes with the quest. The little flaps that go over the end to hold it in place frequently come undone, but they do not detract from the grip. Removing them to replace batteries is a bit of a pain, but I have found this with almost all touch controller covers.
I would have given it a 5 star rating, but for the straps. The cover fits perfectly, and makes it less prone to slipping. Those straps, however, make using the buttons and triggers very awkward. I suggest using the OEM straps with the new covers.
It's exactly as advertised. After using it I do wish that it was agitated via a buckle. Because it is Velcro only, it doesn't feel secure enough that I can stop worrying that my hand will slip or if the strap. But that is just nit picking. It's a great product for a great price
The silicone wrap is easy to install as is the strap but when used together it is a finicky mess and likely to cause scratches to the controllers from the process with the battery door.
The problem is that the silicone has a narrow slit to allow access to the mounting point for the strap that can only be accessed with the battery door removed. As a result you need to install the silicone with the battery door missing and blindly slot the strap into position through the small hole. After this you need to stretch the silicone and carefully install the battery door under it and through the controller ring fighting both the magnets and tension from the silicone. If the slit in the silicone were wide enough for the strap (or half of it if folded) to fit it would be far easier to install or change batteries. As it is it takes about 5 minutes to change the batteries on each controller. and probably 10-15 minutes per controller to get a feel for the quirks involved.
Note: I recommend installing the strap on the ring of the controller rather than over the buttons as depicted in the first photo. They show this in the 3rd photo as of this writing.
The Esimen Palm Strap for Oculus Touch Controllers work well. They are much more convenient than the original wrist straps, and allow you to quickly take hold of and let go of the controllers. They prevent the battery covers from slipping off during intense use, and provide a more solid connection between the hands and the controllers. It may depend on the size and shape of your hands, but I found them a bit awkward to find the best fit so that the buttons are easily accessible and the straps and controllers are comfortable. After trying several adjustments of the velcro straps and positions on the hand, I have concluded that for me it is best to loosen the straps somewhat to allow the straps to be positioned on the wrist side of my knuckles.
I have large sweaty hands (7 1/2" or 19cm palm to finger tip) and the oculus controllers are slippery and small. For almost every game this is fine, but I love beat saber and play it a lot, I needed something to improve my grip.
Positives - Quality materials - Minimal packaging - "Clips" at the top of the controller feel secure
Big Hands Incompatibilities & Personal Issues - I didn't find the straps comfortable and they seemed to impede my grip rather than improve it. - I found the strap band to be obstructive to the face buttons. - Necessary removal of the wrist strap not ideal.
Bad Design - Installation with the straps is awkward. - The material did not improve my grip. - I EASILY and ACCIDENTALLY broke the grip cover removing it from the controller (needed for battery exchange).
Unfortunately I will be getting a return for this product
