Very easy to install on the violin. Helps the beginners to find their finger placement finding the write musical note. Does not leave glue residue on violin! Very Fast Shipping very satisfied customer ;)
I put this on my daughter's violin, and it has increased her confidence with her finger placement like crazy. It is a bit tricky to get on without screwing it up, so read the directions carefully. The spacing is just right, though, so I guess I did okay!
I hadn't picked up or played my violin in almost 20 years. So when the pandemic hit and I had nothing better to do, I decided to revisit and relearn this amazing instrument. After nearly 2 decades I have pretty much forgotten everything and needed references for finger positions. This product popped up and I decided to give it a try.
I learned violin in an age where all teachers were using colored tape to mark positions...and while tape gets the job done, I felt this finger guide is way more comprehensive and accurate.
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is my experience with the application. Despite following the provided instructions, it was difficult to adjust the sticker into the right position because even if a little bit sticks, it's hard to move around due to the curvature of the fingerboard and strings and the tightness of the top of the instrument, I eventually had to get a toothpick to get the sticker off the board.
Application would have been much easier if the the sticker backing was divided into 3 pieces where the first piece only exposes a little bit of the sticker so that we can set the anchoring the point properly, and the subsequent pieces can be peeled off to either side after the correct anchor point is established.
Overall a great product! Though the application needs improvement, I love the idea and the ingenuity and wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone learning the violin.
This was not easy to install. Got stuck on fingerboard. Hard to align. But the worst part is I couldn't see the markings when I held the violin in the playing position, which really makes it useless. I took it off the same day I put it on. Used brightly colored tape to mark the “frets” instead.
Needed this as an adult beginner to learn the pattern of the notes, and it did help with that. It wasn't super easy to install and got a little squished so that the notes weren't quite in the right place. I had to over reach with the fourth finger to get A or E in tune, but it was ok. Used for about six weeks and took it off. It didn't leave any residue behind, but it fell apart into hundreds of little slivers of printing as I removed it. Violin sounds much nicer now without it.
This sticker is of excellent quality, and was worth the price. I have taught myself basic violin in a matter of days! I learned to read sheet music, and the sticker helped me with the rest! (I will admit I had a little panic when I dropped the sticker short of its destination, as my angle was bad and the strings were getting closer to the fretboard, but I managed to peel off the sticker and slide it out again for reapplication. Had that gone south, I would still have the extra sticker they dearly sent! How sweet! Now I have an extra one.)
