The product itself works great, but one of them arrived really cracked. The first time I ordered, both were cracked. I don't want to go through the hassle of returning again so I'll just use the one that I have.
This is OK rosin at a good price. The rosin arrived in a plastic holder with a plastic cover, which is nice and convenient to put in my violin case without making a mess. The rosin was fairly soft, not hard or cracking. It worked well with my bow and produced a quality sound with relative ease of playing. It isn't a concert soloist quality rosin but it is decent and worth the purchase for everyday playing. This stuff creates a lot of dust and wears off the bow hairs quickly. The two blocks will probably last me a good long time, but when they are gone or start to show age... I will buy more of this stuff for my practice playing. It is worth the money for practice playing.
I had rated this stuff 5 stars. I played many hours with it. I then decided to buy some Jade rosin and try it. Well... compared to Jade rosin, this rosin doesn't measure up. It is good for the price for practice rosin but the Jade rosin is easily a superior rosin. I will probably be buying the Jade rosin from now on and donate the remainder of this rosin to some brand new beginners to work with. I am lowering my rating from 5 stars for this rosin down to just 3 stars because of my comparison of it to the Jade rosin. It just doesn't measure up well now.
I use a treadle sewing machine and the belt was slipping when sewing heavier material. Tightening the belt didn't help and I read that putting rosin on the belt would help. I bought these because they were inexpensive and they work great. Yesterday I was able to sew 6 layers 500 denier coated nylon canvas.
The little blocks are perfect to hold against the belt while running the machine with the clutch disengaged.
Another great Amazon product that does it's job and I could never find in our little town and would have to pay three times as much and a 100 mile drive to find here.
My daughter’s violin bow got greased. I tried her old rosin and a brand new professional brand rosin. I put a lot in the bow, but the bow can’t vibrate well any more. I purchased this dark rosin. To my surprise, I only applied a little, the sound comes out! After 3 days of slippery and muffled sound, and after I had put a lot of rosin from different brands, I almost wanted to buy a new bow and a new violin. This rosin changed everything. It saves my daughter’s violin and the bow.
I've dropped many rosin bars before, having 2 for the price of one is great. The rosin applies smoothly and works great with my cello bow. The price was an exceptional value. Now I have an extra in case I drop one. Shipping was quick and packaging was good.
My daughters bow has black hair on it. Regular rosin leaves a chalky white residue. That is what its supposed to do but it looks bad on black bowstrings. This rosin solves that problem and works as good as any other brand she has used.
Not impressed with this rosin. It wares off the bow super fast and has to be reapplied constantly. Literally like every song it needs to be reapplied. I've used cheap light rosin in the past that makes a mess but works way better.
