The habitual quality control issues rages on. Honestly, I don't know why Hasbro even bothers. They spent a half a billion dollars on this property just to treat it with complete indifference. Even the cheapest collectibles you find at the Dollar tree have better paint apps then this. I'd like to say I was disappointed, but at this point is exactly what I have come to expect from Hasbro. For two consecutive years they're merchandise has gotten progressively worse. The American consumer complains, and Hasbro just ignores. The television show is terrible, the action figures are terrible, the last film was terrible; and they just don't seem to care.
If you purchased a Psycho Red/Blue/Green then you know how each of these figures is like. If you purchases a Lightning Collection figure, then you know how these pose.
The female psychos have a female body but a male sized head. Not a problem to me but something you may notice. All of them have their weapons which are pretty good.
In the packaging, the Psycho Yellow weapon moved around. Nothing damaged it seems like the loose one of the group.
The paint apps are why this thing lost two stars. The line work isn't clean and there are spots under spray especially on Yellow and Pink. YMMV but for the price of this pack, that's some weak painting from a major company. Even more this feels like they should have done solo releases because if you have one problem figure, everything needs to go back.
Hasbro needs to fix this as the whole line is plagued with this far more then Marvel legends/Star Wars/Transformers.
Super disappointed with the quality control of this set. The paint deco is pretty bad on all the figures, especially on Yellow and Pink though. Joints are pretty loose through the set too. This line is proving to be difficult for hasbro to figure out.
When it was revealed that this set was going to be released I was thrilled, if you're a collector of power rangers merchandise you would probably know we never got official figures of Yellow and Pink Psycho rangers. This set comes in two protective boxes which is great because the chances of getting wrecked box is almost impossible. Even the actual box the figures come in is quite sturdy.
Now I call this set a Hit or Miss, because others have reported bad paint jobs or missing paint on their figures. Luckily the set I received is decent, the only flaw is the red psycho ranger's visor not painted 100%. However because I bought the individual releases of the Psycho Red and Blue it's not a huge issue for me. The other figures have minor paint bleeds, but it's very minor that it doesn't bother me.
As for the price, if you live in the US you can get them for a great deal because you're paying for what it'd cost for 5 individual lightning figures which is usually around 19.99. However if you live in Canada like my self, prepare to pay a lot more. Problem with this set is that it isn't readily available. Getting it off Amazon.com as Canadian I paid all these import fees, and with the conversion rate I paid 199. I over paid by $50 because in Canada an individual lightning figure costs 29.99 which should have cost this set $150. There is a listing on Amazon.ca but it says unavailable for the longest time now and known Amazon.ca's track history that could mean months of waiting. If you're like me and you can't wait months or more for this set, the cheapest place to get the set is from here because theses a huge mark up on eBay and it's not available any where else (if you're Canadian).
I would recommend this set if you're a fan of the Psycho Rangers, even if you have customer Pink and Yellow figures. Only because this set is official and you get all their weapons which is another plus.
Just be aware, you could be getting a Hit or a Miss.
I received my set of Psycho rangers over two days late.
Black, Blue, and Pink Psycho rangers were shipped with amazing paint applications!
Red and Yellows on the other hand... are why I won’t be giving a 5 star review. I did not take any photos of the psycho red figure I received in the five pack... before receiving I already owned the Psycho red from the two pack with lost Galaxy red and had made the decision I would hand paint the worse of the two red psychos into a silver psycho ranger..
Luckily I made the wise choice to wait for the five pack to arrive as the figure that came in the five pack had a large red paint splotched on his left eye? Visor eye slit? As well as two other noticeable spots of poor paint applications behind the right ear was a big pool of red paint as well the crotch peice of the figure had two red lines that were meant to be separated.. the five packs was so poor they were connected.
These I fixed by using 3 paints from the D&D Starter paint set found here: https://www.amazon.com/Army-Painter-Dungeons-Official-Adventurers/dp/B07DWMTNDJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=d%26d+paint+set&qid=1601874361&sprefix=d%26d+paint+se&sr=8-4
I used three base coats of the Grey Primer to coat over all the red. Then hit with a coat of the metallic silver. And fixed any paint splotches with the abyssal black paint in the D&D set.
The yellow psycho rangers paint apps on her helmet and right shoulder pad were not great. Several spots were you can see not enough yellow paint was applied and the black underneath shows through it.
