To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Way, way, WAY too BIG to use on a backpack. This thing is huge. It works great if you camping or rock climbing, but for a purse of backpack it is way overkill. I don't want a giant hunk of metal hanging off my backpack. This thing is the size of my hand (I'm 6' 1"). If it were half the size, it would be perfect.
It does what it is supposed to do - hook over something and let you hook something else to it. But so would any S style clip for a lot less money. I'm thinking of the Nite Ize S-Biner specifically. This is just another gadget for those with too much money and too little imagination. It will soon end up in the junk drawer for most people.
I got this hang up my laptop bag at cafes etc. I'm kind of grossed out by having to leave my bag on dirty food stained floors.
This does what it says but it's cruddily made, like a toy and doesn't feel like it will last. It's already a little out of shape and I really don't use it as much as I thought I would. It costs way too much for the build quality.
Unfurled, the hook+carabiner is close to 6" long which mean my bag tends to touch the floor on most standard tables, defeating the purpose. I've tried offloading onto my wife but it doesn't work for any of her handbags (same problem) so it's back with me again.
The hook is kind of plasticky and doesn't grip surfaces well so I wouldn't trust it to hold anything of value.
This is either fake or got a lower quality item from the factory. I have another heroclip so I can compare everything closely, and this is just almost the same but lower quality in everything. Not beveled or much less bevel than the original, so more uncomfortable. Hinges are extremely tight so it’s very uncomfortable to use. Spindles are more recessed and plastic has a worse finish that the legitimate one. I guess that’s why it was a few dollars cheaper than the alternatives.
Do not buy from this vendor, item does the job but very unpleasant to use. Use other supplier.
Not a bad clip, but not a great one when you compare it to a real Heroclip. According to Heroclip, unless it is sold by Heroclip (via Amazon) it is a knockoff. The packaging, patent numbering and trademark stamping is nearly identical so they are of no help in determining if it is an authentic Heroclip. I bought both and compared the knockoff and the authentic and there is a BIG difference in the hinge mechanisms, the machining of the edges, the clip and the clasp. It is worth a few extra dollars to pass up the less expensive look-alike and get the authentic Heroclip. The real deal is a great product in any size you choose to use.
Purchase the clip to hang my Tenzing hunting backpack while I am up in my tree stand. The clip has sharp edges on both portions of the clip and has severely worn/cut the hanging loop of my very expensive backpack. I will need to take a file or dremel tool to remove the hard sharp edges and create a radius so it will not continue to cut into the pack
