We've only had this for a few days, but so far - we are very happy! With our daughter's preschool cancelled due to COVID, we were looking for a gift that would not keep her entertained & actively learning so when school starts back up, we're ready for kinder! At first I was hesitant to purchase the Early Math Kit because of its higher price ($119.99 vs $79.99) but I'm SO HAPPY we did because she's having A BLAST WITH COUNTING. It was super easy to set up. It's also great seeing her build her numbers/letters with the colored sticks because her fine motor skills are still limited and she struggles with making her letters on paper. The story time game is also great and really helps stretch her mind and think creatively. I'll update as she plays more, but so far it's our favorite activity!
10/5/20 update: she's still loving it - 5 stars highly recommend this because math is included. We're so happy I'm also buying for my sister's kids.
My son is turning six next week and starting kindergarten this year. I've been worried all summer about his education since the beginning of Covid. I wanted to find something educational to keep him learning, focused, and engaged. I set it up for him and he immediately started playing. He loved using the manipulatives and creating shapes on his work mat. He was engaged and loved all the different lessons. They were so easy and needed minimal adult support (just to set up). The lessons started easy and slowly scaffolded the content. He is already learning so much about numbers, shapes, and letters. I'm so impressed. My parents will be doing distance learning and will use this as part of his instruction. He loves using it so it will be easy to implement. Highly recommend.
I bought the Osmo little genius starter kit for my four year old to have some educational learning opportunities that were still fun. It helps him work on a lot of age appropriate skills. He is learning how to write so the masterpiece game is a great fun way to help him build his fine motor skills. The costume party game allows him to be creative while also figuring out his spatial reasoning. My only concern is that you are supposed to take the cover off the ipad. I have a two year old that likes to play along with whatever the four year old does. I need to maintain parental supervision to make sure the kids don't knock over the ipad during a spat, but probably not an issue for folks with older kids.
Love Osmo because I can have my daughter be entertained so I can work. I love that I don’t have to feel guilty about her being on her iPad and that it’s educational. The games are so creative and my daughter gets a kick out of how it scans her creations onto the iPad. We use our Osmo daily and rotate out the games. Can’t recommend this enough... especially during current times with all our kids at home!
4.0 out of 5 starsMoney well-spent. Fun activities with intuitive apps

I wanted to wait for a while to ensure my daughter had sufficient time to play with it. During the entire time, she was thoroughly engaged, though we had to keep giving her breaks to ensure she was not too addicted. I was initially very skeptical at the high price of this product, but considering that we all have to pretty much home school nowadays during the pandemic, it is dollars well spent to supplement the remote learning that my wife and I have found largely ineffective.
The base is good and the reflector works well, though the pieces do not stay together well with the reflector mirror. So, be sure to store them in a bin or bag.
The apps are very well-designed and intuitive to use -- freeing us up with focusing on our own work from home activities.
