This mask was purchased for my husband's plague doctor costume. He'd prefer to go in the most comfortable non costume costume or street clothes every time. With this in mind I'm happy I ordered this with enough time to properly form, fit and adjust to him. Once unboxed it needed reshaping to create the beak look. My husband tried the mask on, and realized air holes were a must. He punched a few along the beak around where his mouth and nose laid underneath. This allowed for easier and effortless breathing during photos in the sticky Michigan summer air. *Doing this did not ruin the material or shape of the beak. After we used the stuffing it came with plus some to really fill the beak and let set for 2 weeks we had prior to our event.
The strap was comfortable and fit well on his smaller shaped head (wears medium ball caps).
The cape was washed to soften the cheaper material but held up well.
I joined a Wine Fairy group. My teenage son has helped with deliveries. He said he wanted mask and picked this one. Rather appropriate considering quarantine.
The mask is well made and adjustable. Soft Leather. Metal rivets. No sharp edges. Eye pieces are plastic. 2 rows of 5 small grommets run the length of the nose so you can breathe. Can be worn with eyeglasses. Had to stuff newspaper in the nose the get it to keep it's shape.
Cloak is maybe acetate or polyester. Not super thin. Wrinkles easy.
I always expect cheap faux-leather to smell really bad, but this was actually perfectly fine. It's a little smaller than I thought, or maybe my head's too big. Visibility is awful, but that can't really be helped with this style of mask. Breathing isn't as difficult as I had expected. I've had a harder time breathing in a motorcycle helmet, just for comparison. As for the look, I recommend wearing a balaclava or something similar to cover your neck and sides of your head, or else it won't look right.
Bought this for my plague doctor outfit, was not disappointed. Material is sturdy and comfortable on the face, simple to adjust, breathable, and easy to see in. The hood is pretty standard; soft material and sits well on the head. Overall, I would recommend this set to anyone in the market for a plague doctor mask.
The beak is up a little high and the glass fogs up with I breathe sometimes but it's very nice and makes a great mask for Halloween and for covid. Only think is stuff the beak because it's a little flat. 10/10 would recommend.
So I got this mask for my university’s halloween costume contest (even though it’s still a month away). I got it and it arrived in good condition, no scratches or breaks which was nice. My only complaint is that it is a little hard to see if you wear glasses like me. However, it is adjustable to fit my glasses, it should fit with yours. Though to see you may need to look out one side or if you’re at a party/convention have a handler if you can’t see that well without your glasses. It also has river holes under the beak which make it helpful to breathe (though the eyes fog up a bit). Other than the somewhat mild pleather smell (which smells pretty nice to me, like a new car leather smell) then it works for my needs.
Bought it for my daughter who loves this stuff. Mask appears to be of good quality, not sure if it is real leather or not, but close enough for the price. This came with the hood which is meh, but it goes well with the mask. All in all, a good purchase! Oh, another thing. You can't see the person's eyes when wearing it, but they can see fine out of it.
It fits and is comfortable. It's very adjustable. But it is made of leather with glass eyes so it is a little warm we live in Florida. It is the perfect thickness and exactly what we were looking for in a plague doctor mask.
