I got this at a good price when this was difficult to find at other retailers. It arrived earlier than expected which was a bonus, it covers everything that I've wanted from a heart rate monitor. The GPS tracking didn't work when I went for a run with it but was fine when I went on a walk with the walking profile active, so it might be affected with how I carried it. Saying that I'm pretty happy with it overall considering it came from the US instead of Australia
My usage of the Tickr is paired to Polar watch to replace the optical sensor. I mainly use it for runs and High intensity traing and it is comfortable also noticed the Tickr measurements reacts faster, whereas the on-watch sensor tended to show high figure.
Update: if the strap isnt in it's ideal position then there is a chance that it would mispreport your actual BMP, you notice this when running at a constant speed but you BMP drops to walking speed and needs adjusting before the sensor works correctly.
Works well, you forget it's even on after a few mins but sometimes the app requires you to run for a little while before it properly starts detecting properly. I do think these issues I've had have been down to the app and not the actual device so hopefully future firmware will improve these little bugs. Sometimes you have to turn your bluetooth off and re connect it but it's hardly a big issue.
I bought this HR monitor to connect to, and control, my Wahoo Headwind fan. It connects quite easily by ANT+ and works well. Connection with the app seems a bit iffy, but it does work. You can set up ranges so that the fan cuts in and speeds up to various rates depending on your heart rate.
The belt only just fits, and I'm 6'2" and 15 stone. But it is OK and does the job.
A good HRM that is well made, reliable and comfortable. It does come out a little pricey but it does not cost the earth. The unit is really light and comes complete with a battery. Knocked off one star as the setup is a little clunky as one has to download the Wahoo app, sync, upload firmware...and then it is good to go. Works well with a Garmin 500.
Good quality and does the job. Bit if a shame that apps this connects too won’t work in the background (they need to remain open on your phone for readings to be taken from the monitor) meaning you can’t have YouTube for example open for music which also needs to remain open to work, so have to use a second device for this.
But overall really pleased with the product and quality.
