This strap is just borderline "ok". The light duty cotton canvas like material that the main part of the strap is constructed of is comfortable enough and moderately sturdy feeling. But that's where any good points of the strap stop. The product description for the strap states that the ends are made from "genuine leather". They are not. They are made of cheapo "pleather" that will quickly fail over time. There is absolutely NO GENUINE LEATHER in the entire construction of the strap and I have always been very resentful of false advertising. Also, the pick holders in the strap are more of a gimmick than a useful feature. The reason being is that the picks fall out way too easily. Just brush them with you sleeve, the picks fall out; lift the strap over your head to use your guitar, the picks fall out; simply pick up your guitar from where you leaned it against the wall, causing the strap to jiggle, the picks fall out. This makes you far more prone to losing picks by putting them on the strap than by storing them in your guitar case when not needed. Also, the piece of material that you loop around the head of your guitar to attach the strap to is made of the same cheapo pleather that the ends of the strap are made of. It's so weak and flimsy feeling that I'm terrified itll break in an unguarded moment and my guitar will hit the floor. Fortunately, I found a far, far better strap made from thick, real cowhide leather for $10 on Ebay. Only what? $3 more than this very substandard product? Keep shopping folks. You can do WAY better than this strap for just a dollar or three more.
It's a basic, no-frills strap. I'm a beginner, so it's okay for me. However, if you're looking for something you can wear for a while, go with something with more padding, adjustability, etc.. Also, it's supposed to come with strap locks and picks -- they weren't included in my shipment. I did try to contact the seller, but did not receive any reply. Not a big deal for me, but frankly I won't buy again, unless it's for an inexpensive gift.
These do nothing to retain the straps on the buttons. I have tried on more than one guitar, and they will pop off on both mushroom style and Fender tapered style strap buttons, and on two different thicknesses of strap. Had hoped not to install metal lockers, but you should just spend the $$ and do it.
I bought these for the six basses I have, and on the ones where the strap pin isn't too deep and the strap is a bit thicker, they cannot fit as there's no room. And then I had a couple of them tear and becoming useless.
Overall the strap seams to be sturdy. However, the main reason I bought it was for the guitar pick pockets. Unfortunately, the pockets are too small and the picks only go in half way. The picks pop out with just normal movements. For this reason it only gets two stars.
