The product is great but the delivery experience was absolutely abysmal. This was purchased as a gift and by the end of interaction with FastWay Couriers, I would have been better off not buying the person a gift at all. Amazon has to use it's buying power to either force improvement in customer service from FastWay, or ban sellers on its marketplace from using FastWay. They absolutely ruined the experience for myself and the person I bought the gift for. Really disappointing.
on my first trip with this bag it was ripped in 3 places just from being in the hold of an international reputable airline. this is NOT the quality I expect from an expensive Samsonite bag. my previous Samsonite bags have lasted 10 years with rough travel! Samsonite need to get their act together otherwise they will loose a lot of customers....
The dimensions quoted suggested these would be the perfect size for an extended trip around the USA. On arrival it became obvious that the internal capacity was far less than expected. They were returned with ease & a full refund obtained.
This hold-all is very fit for purpose . It is sturdy and holds much more than you would imagine . It is constructed of light weight fabric and is easy to wheel it lift as it has handles on the side and top. I sound the top zip section very useful for storing worn clothes . I had read previous reviews that suggested you couldn’t lock this top section , intact you can with any decent travel padlock . I bought a second for my wife and we have just returned from a trip to the Seychelles very happy with our purchase.
This bag is excellent if you need to minimize the weight of your hand baggage when flying. The fabric is strong and the zips are robust. I have used it over 3 weeks on 7 flights through South America. The bag is flexible so can pack down small into a suitcase if necessary. It is not rigid and will not hold its shape on its own, so anything breakable will need protecting with bubble wrap, paper, or clothing. I brought home a pottery mask and a wood carving with no problem. The inside net pocket (not zipped) is handy for keeping your papers and documents all in one place.
My dad does once a week laundry visit. (and social chat) and the bag he had been using is well beyond its life. After a long hard look for a decent large opening, I only found this Samsonite to fit all his needs. It's very small when packed, has nice double skin, (my dad's own words) says you can't see daylight through it, which to him was a winner) Very pleased with this purchase, and was a wonderful and gratefully received gift.
I admit I am a heavy user. It is a lightweight and versatile bag, with pockets that vary significantly in volume. Ideal for a hand luggage trip on flights with max 10kg allowance. I packed it fully to about 11kg, on a trip of about 10 days now. Just discovered the largest inside pocket is ruptured. So be aware that it ruptures easily when you are in a rush to pack and that is not acceptable for this price class and brand.
I loved the size and weight of this bag, it turns out it was too good to be true.
After three trips, the support board inside the bottom of the bag tore through the flimsy outer fabric, and Samsonite have refused to repair or replace it under their own warranty, citing "wear and tear" rather than a design flaw or manufacturing defect. As a result, I recommend you get a sturdier Dakine bag instead.
