To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The item description states that it is made of 92% cotton, but it’s not true, and there there is no way that this synthetic item made of 92% cotton, more like 8%. I was very excited to find a support for my belly with high % of natural and breathable material as I only use clothes made of cotton and linen (80% and up, so I know very well what different % of cotton looks and feels like) and it was very disappointing to get this product.
Update: I tried to wear this today and made it approx 2 hours. It’s not for me. If you’re sensitive to compression clothing like I am it’s probably not for you either. It was painful and nauseating. It gave me indigestion from breakfast and my back still hurts 15 minutes after removing it. Perhaps if you like strong compression or are very thin this would work for you.
I plan to primarily use the band over the pants extenders. It’s more compression than what I prefer but it should make sure my pants stop falling down or at least cover my crack if they do. I’m currently 12wks
I am 23 weeks and a FTM. I had read that a great way too save money on maternity clothes was to buy a belly band. I found these since they had decent reviews on amazon, and in preparation for steadily growing out of my regular pants, I ordered them when I was only about 17 weeks along. Now that my regular size 4 pants are too tight, I try these on (I’ve only gained 8 lbs so far - 125lbs now) and found they are extremely tight and constructing, even painful to wear for more than a few minutes. I thought about exchanging for a larger size, up from size 1, but found that the window to exchange is closed. Additionally, I read other reviews that stated that they ordered a size up and they are still too tight so I would not even want to try order another pair. I hate that my money has been wasted and that I have decided just to invest in actual maternity pants anyways!!!
I used the size chart. I am normally a size 7 or 8 pre-pregnancy. I ordered size 2, which starts at size 8 pants pre-pregnancy. I ordered this early on. I was not showing very much at the time, just enough that my pants no longer fit. The pant extenders were not comfortable at all. So I decided to wear the belly band without it which I thought was fine. After wearing it for a couple of hours I felt that it was uncomfortably tight on my belly. The zipper also left a mark on my belly. I decided to buy some maternity jeans from motherhood and it worked out much better. I originally didn't want to make the investment in new jeans but it's worth it.
Extremely frustrating how I have this band in a 3 right? And it fits better than the pack I just bought that are a 4!!! I got a bigger size because I’m getting bigger in my third trimester but HARDLY bigger. I can’t even get the black one on. There must have been a misprint of numbers because my 3 fits just fine and a 4 is too small? B.S.
I really wanted to like these. I was trying to make my regular jeans useful through at least some of my pregnancy. However, after a few uses the hole where the jeans button is inserted has ripped, making the extended useless. I bought two sets and all eight have done this. The belly band is quite useless since the extenders don’t work.
I ordered a size 1, as I was a size 3 in pants before pregnancy. It fit, but it was a bit too tight for me. It didn’t stay in place at all, and yes I had it on correctly. Even with the elastic at the bottom, it kept riding up when I walked around. Order a size or two up, otherwise you’ll probably grow out of it really quickly. I was only 7 weeks when I bought this, and now that I’m 11, it’s wayy to small for me. I reordered a size 3, so we’ll see how that goes. I just need something to cover my open zipper lol...
I was pretty disappointed with this product. After just one wash the bottom of the belly band began to come undone at the hem. After 2 washes the threading had completely come undone with a big tangled mess at the bottom all the way around. I ended up throwing this out after 1 week.
