An interesting story, well written, Good characters. Glad I downloaded the 3 books, read them in a few days, the story kept moving along. 400 years ago Aliens attacked Earth, 4 ships got away and one is lost still enroute - or is it. without spoilers - some of the escaped return to Earth and the adventure ensues. Great fun.
I'm not a huge sci-fi reader but when something captures my imagination as The Forgotten trilogy did I am all in! Book one has a twist in it that I didn't see coming and from that moment I was hooked! In fact M R Forbes entire Forgotten Universe has been a fantastic ride for this reader!
Space opera box sets can vary in quality wildly in my experience. Some are terrible, some are excellent, but most are average quality books that help us fill up our reading time when waiting for the next instalments from our favourite authors. So I wasn't expecting too much from The Forgotten Trilogy. As you can guess from the number of stars I've given, I was completely wrong. This is a well written, well thought out set of books with plenty of action and likeable characters (don't get too attached, most die dramatically quite quickly). It also has lots of twists and turns and you'll be surprised how your view of what the story is about can be thrown completely out of the window when you least expect it. And, if you want to know my stand out moment then keep going until the "you first" moment near the end of the third book :-)
Another very Good trilogy. Probably better read as a trilogy rather than buying individual books. A little confusing at the start but then develops into an exciting read. Very strong characters which, for the most part, are very enduring. An exciting read with plenty of action and unexpected twists. Highly recommended.
