I was appalled to see oil in almost every recipe in this book. Oil is not a whole food. It is a very unhealthy substance. It impairs artery function, causes inflammation, while contributing to heart disease, diabetes and yes, cancer too. Oil, the most calorically dense food in existence, is a major culprit in the current obesity epidemic. Eating oil on a vegan diet is like having a winning lottery ticket and refusing to cash it.
Having changed my diet 2 years ago, I stopped eating meat for ethical reasons. But my food choice was very boring. Just lacked taste etc. So I found this book and I love it!! I’m slowly changing to an all plant diet, I feel healthier and animals are not harmed by my choice of food. I love the tastes the recipes this book gives, so varied, so interesting to add things to eat I’ve never even heard of too. Would recommend if you want to want to eat healthier, and help your body fight disease. Highly recommend!!
I legit cried looking through this book. Not only is it absolutely beautiful but the recipes are actually doable for regular people who aren’t gourmet chefs!! As a run-of the mill regular stay-at-home mom I can say with confidence I will be making every single recipe. Thank you Chris and Micah! It’s what we needed!!!
I now have all three books. I eat a fair amount of fruits, veg legumes etc however this will up my intake. It is well written with helpful gems for cancer patients and people wanting to ward “it” off. Great pics of the finished recipe too. Definitely recommend it. Affirmations book is excellent too. Heck all three books I would recommend for those on a cancer journey.
One of the most important decisions for buying a recipe book is the pictures inside. I borrowed the book from the library to see if it was worthy of my personal library and within 3 days ordered my own copy. My husband picked out recipes to try and took the book to his camp job to share with the camp cooks. Great pictures. One error noted, one recipe was missing the cooking Temperature on the Sheet pan bake. 350* F
I have been a Chris Wark fan for a very long time now, and this cookbook is a fine example of the quality he stands behind. I bought it only to support his work and throw a few sheckles his way, but after giving the recipes a browse I know that this will be one of the few cookbooks in my kitchen that will always be within quick reach. I am so glad I bought this.
