I have been a fan of Carmella's since she started bringing her homemade pastas to the local farmers' markets so I was excited to buy her book. I am so impressed with the creative recipes, as well as the easy to follow instructions. She has done her research, but knows that her audience is the home cook. The recipes are easy to follow and don't require a huge number of ingredients or steps. Very accessible. One last thing- unlike most pasta books, she has a great selection of Gluten free pastas. If you are interested in including homemade pasta into your quarantine menu, definitely buy this book!
This book is not only beautiful, but well organized with a “pasta primer” section that breaks down the basics of doughs and flours, as well as chapters on cut pasta, shaped pasta, stuffed pasta, gnocchi and sauces. Every pasta has an accompanying sauce suggestion, plus additional sauces at the end. Great how-to photos and step by step instructions. Loving it!!!
Easy to follow instructions for making homemade pasta and sauces. If you're like me and don't plan on making your own pasta, the cookbook is filled with fantastic pasta dishes that you can make with store bought pasta.
I love pasta -- both eating and making -- and this cookbook is a great addition! There are great basics that have become staples in our kitchen as well as creative recipes that I've enjoyed trying out (artichoke-pistachio pesto!). Definitely recommend for both beginners and experienced home pasta makers!
