- Made in China - Machine wash warm, do not bleach. Lay flat or hang to dry. - Stitching looks good - Drawstring is a flat woven cord with a plastic ends cover and a simple spring pressure clip
These do feel like a rather soft fleece. They're sturdy feeling, not too thick but definitely not flimsy.
I've been seeing a ton of these things since the covid stuff started, but they weren't real gaiters. Just tubes. A real gaiter is shaped so there's fabric to cover the top part of the chest, so it can be tucked in. These could use a little bit longer "tail" but they're very close.
These are not suitable for covid protection in the least.
They can be worn different ways if you need to, but I have no idea what they mean by "pirate cap".
Anyway, these are decent.

These gaiters are super soft and nice and warm. They have a fuzzy velour kind of feel to them. The brown color is really pretty, a soft, cool mocha brown. The gaiters I received are two different weights. The black is heavier and less drapey. They're both stretchy. They're big enough to fit around XL heads without really stretching. The back (of both gaiters) is a little short on me when I pull it up over my nose, so if I'm wearing a crewneck, the lower area of the back of my neck is open to the air. I wish the gaiter were a couple inches longer at the bottom in the back. The toggle lock is at the back-top and is easy to adjust. If you're wearing a hood, it will cover the toggle, but you can pull the gaiter up and down even if the drawstring is kind of tight. If I pull the gaiter up over my nose, it doesn't cover my ears. Covering my ears means the top hem (and drawstring) will be in my eyes. That's just physics but I thought I'd mention it. I like that I can pull the gaiters on without wiping off my eyebrows :) The gaiters are stretchy and supple enough that I can stretch them out in a big loop so they don't mop my face when I put them on or take them off. These would be five stars for me if they were longer in back. And it should probably be noted in the listing that not all of the gaiters are the same weight--maybe it's just me but I looked and couldn't find it. Other than that, though, they're great. They're warm and soft without affecting my breathing.
Now that it's colder I've switched to these masks and they have worked really well for me. They keep the cold air off and they are easy to cinch up. I can't wait to try them out when snow blowing my driveway.
