To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Was a little concerned reading some of the negative network reviews. Bought it and used for last 5 weeks, have never had any network issues. If you have a robust and strong wifi connection, this device works flawlessly. I have it connected to a 2.4/5Ghz dual broadcast channel and it still works, was planning on using just a 5Ghz SSID but it’s smart even to use a combined one. Long story short, don’t let the negative connection reviews scare you if you have a good wireless network at home. It’s awesome to view the camera when I’m at work, etc.
We absolutely love our Nanit! Being able to see our son’s whole crib at night has been so nice, especially since he tends to move around throughout the night. The picture quality is great and it’s so nice that we can see the video feed through the app on our phone. We also really like that we can allow temporary access to babysitters on the app so they can use their phone to monitor our son if they are watching him during nap or bed time.
My husband and I recently moved out of a 1 bedroom apartment in the city into the suburbs (rough during COVID!). There, we never felt the need for a baby monitor as the crib was in the bedroom and one of us was working there during the day. After moving to the suburbs and having the space for a nursery, we searched for the perfect baby monitor and found Nanit. Now with the sleep monitoring and great camera quality, we feel like our baby is safe, healthy, and getting the sleep he needs to grow big and strong! It has really brought peace of mind as first time parents in a larger space. We have been telling all of our pregnant friend they need a Nanit as well.
Excellent monitor. Picture quality is great and there's very little lag. You can adjust your settings to only be notified when noise/movement hits a certain level, so you can hone in on what you want to know about or respond to. Excited to test out the insights when the baby is out of the Snoo.
We purchased this camera 3 weeks before our son was born. I received the camera on March 23rd and set it up that day everything was working great. I did not use the camera again until April 6th with my son due on the 7th. When I tried to test the camera the camera would not work. I called customer service and we troubleshooted the problem to be that the camera had stopped working for an unknown reason. I followed all the instructions to get a return processed and they said a new one will ship in 1-3 days. Not ideal with my son being born the next day. On April 8th I still had not received an update on shipping. I called customer support back and provided my ticket number. Once they pulled up my case he asked for the reason of my call and I said I had not received an update on the status of my camera. He stated that it was in process. I then said I was unpleased with the amount of time it was taking to get the replacement. I explained that through no fault of my own I have a $300 camera and $100 of bands that are no use to me with my newborn son and I would like to expedite my replacement. He started to talk over me and was extremely rude. I hung up and came here to warn other future parents that they can not count on their camera working when your new born comes home and don't count on nanit to do everything they can to make it right.
This products is great when it works while it works! Great picture great usability. The minute the camera runs into problems customer support is there to give you a two week run around asking you two troubleshoot ten thousand things and stone wall replacing the faulty cameras. The cameras all go bad and that’s the problem they will stop connecting to your internet even with hard resets. Customer support will do absolutely everything it takes to not replace them and to drag you through the mud until you just give up. Five stars if they worked all the time and if customer service would replace faulty cameras.
I've purchased the full system. The camera, the wall adapter, the tripod, the stand, swaddles, bands & the sheets. In total, up to USD$1,000 considering I shipped overseas.
Initially very impressed with the system, our firstborn (preemie) needed constant care and this helped a lot. So much that I invested extra on the Unlimited tier account.
Started using the service, finding the insights & statistics really helpful to plan ahead feeding times, and our own nap windows. We use 2 cribs daily, one in our bedroom and one in the living room (daytime). Plus I'm preparing his own room. So the idea was to use the tripod in our bedroom, the wall adapter in his room and the stand in the living room.
To my dismay, upon using the stand the system warns me that when using it, all insights & statistics will not be enabled. It detects the stand based on the usb-c internal cable. I had mounted the stand so that it had the same view quality as the tripod and wall adapter, a nice view from above of the whole crib.
So that means that during daytime, I don't have any real feedback on his sleep patterns. It's just a glorified nanny cam. This due to a random choice by Nannit. It could (it SHOULD) be my choice, I paid handsomly for the whole damn thing!
Upon reaching to Nannit, no real solution, just getting out of the Unlimited tier and getting those USD$130 back. That's it.
The hell with it. I carefully opened the stand, removed the cable and replaced for now with the one from the wall adapter (it's going to be a year at least until he sleeps in his room). So I had to find my own solution for this issue.
In summary: the Nannit hardware is nice, the software works as advertised. But random choices by the company force you to keep buying into the ecosystem, which is expensive, and these details are not well advertised. Cannot recommend.
We bought this travel case because my wife and I travel quite a bit with ours kids (either going to my parents house for the weekend or to my wife's family in VA, or just on vacation elsewhere). We used to either forget to take the camera or had to find a container that would be strong enough to protect the camera from getting damaged. This case now solves that issue! We have the nanit travel kit that we keep in that pouch and when we are going anywhere we just remove the camera from the nanit and place it in the box. The box is designed so that everything you need fit easily in the case. You don't have to worry about anything moving around in the case which will protect it from any damage! Overall, I recommend this for anyone who travels as this will protect your Nanit investment!
