I wish we got this sooner! Having this camera really gives us peace of mind, and a lot more freedom. In the past, we had to check in regularly and also listen out for our little one. This camera allows us to step in much quicker, and avoid a situation where our baby gets too unsettled, cries out, and then wakes up fully.

The video and image quality are excellent. The camera also allows for 2x zoom, without any noticeable degradation. It switches to night vision, when it detects low light. The screen is a very good size, and instead of adding too many buttons and making for a larger design (or a smaller screen), this device uses a multi-function button where the "talk" button also controls the brightness up/down and volume up/down. Another thing that really impressed me is the microphone is still able to pick up any baby sounds, even with a white noise machine next to the camera!

As others have pointed out, as an added bonus this is actually "VAVA" branded. It is a very good brand and a lot better than generics in this space.

Great camera, great and clear picture, love the option to move the lens.
Few things I am missing or could be improved on:
1. Camera has to be a fair distance away.
2. When it detects noise the screen doesnt automatically turn on. Our old camera would turn on the screen when it detected noise and the screen was in sleep mode.
3. The sound doesn't go in 'sleep mode'. Another feature I miss from our old camera is the sound would turn off unless it detected loudish noise. With this camera the sound is either always on (which can be annoying when you have music or sounds on for bubs) or its gonna be completely off.

Otherwise we love it and its great value for money !

As other reviewers have noted, this baby monitor is Vava branded which by all accounts is a high quality & expensive brand sold mostly in USA. It certainly felt very well built and designed. The image quality and range were seriously impressive, a world of difference from previous Oricom monitors we’ve owned. The large 5” screen is also fantastic.

Overall we loved this unit but in the end returned it due to it missing one key feature…

As another reviewer called Candy has also commented, it is just missing one key baby monitor feature which is known as VOX mode. We wanted the screen to automatically turn on & give us an obvious alert when the camera detected our baby’s cries. However it doesn’t have the ability to do this, your only choice is to have the screen’s volume permanently on, or off. We just wanted to hear when the baby was crying, not have it playing sound all night whilst we watched TV.

If this feature isn’t critical to you then I’d say absolutely go ahead and buy this one. You will get a very very good product at a bargain price.

Good product, clear image, easy to use, good battery life. The only problem is, when the screen is on ‘sleep’ mode, it will not light up by itself even the camera catches some sounds or motion, you will have to press the button to check. Not very convenient during the night especially when you turn the volume low.
