5.0 out of 5 stars Sphere World

The hottest new game on the hypernet is Sphere World. The Corporations want it, the Player Guilds want it, even Free players want to be there, and Luke is there from the 1st time it starts.
A good book, with interesting characters, and some political twists thrown in to top it off.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid, but needs a little more editing.

A solid enjoyable book for the most part. It definitely could use a little more time on editing and formatting though. Some things were hard to follow (particularly in the large drawn out combat scenes) and could do with some clarification. Some plot points were handled a bit roughly, either resolved abruptly or a bit hand wavy. The final twist in particular was a bit uninspired in my opinion. That said it was an enjoyable look at humanity in the future with fun interplay between the main characters and satisfying progression that will appeal to anyone who is a fan of games.

It is obvious that Michael is at home writing SCI FI. This work has it all ,a great engaging storyline with relatable characters. That moves along at a great pace.
Eagerly awaiting the next instalment.

So the whole concept of this book isn't really a new one. I won't spoil it but for fans already reading Michael's work they should enjoy this.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to where it goes. I found the start to be a slow build-up but by halfway through I couldn't put it down.

As with all of Michael's books this is extremely well written and a great start to another series. Easy to read and hard to put down. Look forward to the next installment.

Now this is what EvE online/ Dust should have been like. I'm patiently waiting for the last book in Michael's 10 Realms series (well, I say patiently...) so when I saw this I thought 'why not?' and I'm glad I have it a go. Good action, a developing story (Actually 2 intertwined ones), stakes ramping up and a hook into the next book in the series. Talking of which... When? Looking forward to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing story!

I’ll start with a simple fact; this book is brilliant. That’s not negotiable, it’s a simple statement of fact. I’m generally not a fan of VR settings, and there’s a lot of that in this book, but the way it’s handled? The way the outer world and the VR meshes? The intrigue, the battles? Hell yes. Book 2 now please.

I like the whole take on this. There are a few novels out there that have done the old online gaming trope but it normally a bit focused on one part or the other.

This novel interweaves some separate but ultimately connected plots to an ending to the novel that I had half suspected but wasn’t sure if it would end that way. It definitely made for an intriguing read.
