Incredibly sturdy scratching post. We had a sisal one before, but it was destroyed and unravelling within 2 years. This one seems like it will last much longer. Looks good with our decor. The one complaint is that the base is wood rather than fabric, which makes my cat skip when she is on it. She needs traction in the feet when doing a full length scratch, and she doesn't get it with this. She used the old scratchy post constantly, but even not this one nearly as much, even two weeks in. She used to hop onto the top of the old one, since again, it was fabric. She will not attempt that with this one and I don't want to risk purchasing the top attachment in case she doesn't take to it. Would give this a five if the base and top were covered in soft fabric.
